How do I sign up for the MTGO Beta Program?
Log into the MTGO Help site (your login here is the same as MTGO), then select “Submit a Request”
From the category list, select “I would like to apply for the MTGO Beta Program”
Complete the form fields (to be eligible for Beta, you must agree to the Beta Testing & Non-Disclosure Agreement as well as opt-in to receiving marketing emails). “Subject” and “Description” are required fields, but you don’t need to put anything specific in either.
When you submit your request, you’ll receive an email that confirms it was received.
How do I know if I’ve been accepted?
If accepted to the Beta Program, you’ll receive an email with subject line “Welcome to MTGO Beta!” that includes some instructions on getting started.
You can also check the MTGO Help Site. Sign in and navigate to “Requests” (select the avatar widget on the top navigation). If there's no request labeled “Welcome to MTGO Beta,” you have not been accepted. If you don’t see your original application request, please submit a new one.
Before each round of the beta, Beta Program members will receive an email providing the details for that round. If you’re in the Beta Program and don’t receive an email, make sure you haven’t unsubscribed from marketing emails. You can always reach out to customer service if you have any questions.
I’ve been accepted. How do I install the Beta server and start playing?
1. Uninstall Magic Online: Please uninstall the current version of MTGO on your computer (you won’t be able to install Beta without doing so)
2. Download & Install Magic Online Beta: https://mtgo.patch.daybreakgames.com/patch/mtg/beta/client/setup.exe
3. Log In: Use your regular username and password.
What is the MTGO Beta Server Discord? How do I join?
To report bugs, interact with other Beta members, and receive all the latest Beta information, please join the MTGO Beta Server Discord: https://discord.com/invite/JaAJqBCTUt
Before you can access the channels, you’ll need to provide your MTGO Username and the Request ID # of your Beta application (find this in the ‘Welcome to MTGO Beta!’ email) by submitting a message in the ‘welcome-get-role' channel. Example message: MyCoolMTGOUsername #12345
After you send that message, it will be deleted automatically but logged for our team. We'll then confirm the information and grant full Discord channel access. Verification is typically processed on the same day, but requests outside of typical working hours, 9-5 PT M-F, may not be processed until we’re back in the office. If the username & ID don’t match, we’ll reach out to let you know.
TIP: If you don’t see your Request ID in the Beta welcome email, check the MTGO Help Site. Sign in, then navigating to “Requests” (select the avatar widget on the top navigation). If there's no request labeled “Welcome to MTGO Beta,” please submit a new request for additional assistance.
How do I report a bug in Beta?
Head to the “report-an-issue” channel the MTGO Beta Server Discord. Follow the bug reporting process indicated in Post Guidelines.
I can’t sign in. What should I do?
If you’ve been accepted to the Beta Program and you’re having trouble signing in, here are a couple steps to try:
- Try your previous password. (On Beta, your account is essentially a snapshot from an earlier point in time, so if you’ve updated your password recently it may not yet be reflected there).
- With Beta installed, reset your password using “Forgot Password” (this won’t change your live password).
- If you’re still having trouble, please contact customer service by submitting a ticket at help.mtgo.com. Make sure to specify that you need assistance with signing into Beta.
I’m running into a technical issue. How can I receive assistance?
If you’re having trouble signing in, run through the steps above. For other issues, try asking in the Discord where fellow Beta members may be able to help you out. You can also reach out to customer service for assistance by submitting a ticket at help.mtgo.com.
